During her unbeaten run into the inaugural Legacy Fighting Alliance strawweight title fight, Sam Hughes has discovered she takes pleasure in the toughest parts of a fight. It’s an aspect of her abilities she has used to success in the past, and she plans to do so again by dragging Crystal Vanessa Demopoulos into a war of attrition on Friday night in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, at LFA 85.
“I really enjoy the grittiness of fighting, dragging people into really deep water and seeing what they are all about,” Hughes told Sherdog. “So, I intend on doing that with her. I intend on dragging her into deep water and if it goes to the third or fourth [round], I’m so excited about that. I have the cardio for that [and] the wherewithal to know and put the pressure on her. I think that’s what I bring to the table, and I don’t think she’s had that before.”
During her discussion with Sherdog, the fighter known as “Sampage” spoke in-depth about her upcoming championship matchup, as well as why moving down a weight-class was always part of her grand designs in LFA.
